In the following "Knips", "platform" or "our" refers to Knips AS and our web page or mobile apps will be referred to as our Service.

Knips is a corporate entity delivering a platform connecting service providers or producers with users. Our webpage is available at knips.com, and our apps are available through the iOS App Store and Google Play Store.

Knips is the sole proprietor of the Service. All content published on or by the Service is controlled by Knips. It is forbidden to copy or republish this content unless the Service facilitates such republication, or unless Knips has provided prior written consent.

This statement is intended to inform you of our policies regarding treatment, collection, use and disclosure of personal data when you use our Service, and the choices you have associated with that data. Personal data should be interpreted as all information and assessments that can be associated with you as an individual. Treatment of personal data should be interpreted as any use of personal data, including, but not limited to, collection, registration, compilation, storage, sharing or any combination of such activities.   • Documents and Files: Files and documents uploaded to the platform in connection with our services.

Data Usage

Knips uses the personal data we collect for the following purposes:

  • Service Delivery: To operate, maintain, and provide the features and functionality of our platform, including connecting service providers with users.

Affiliated Content Providers

Knips takes the security of your personal data seriously. We implement appropriate technical and organizational measures to protect your data against unauthorized access, alteration, disclosure, or destruction. These measures include:

  • Access controls to limit data access to authorized personnel only,
  • Regular security assessments and monitoring,

While we strive to protect your personal data, no method of transmission over the Internet or method of electronic storage is 100% secure. We cannot guarantee absolute security but are committed to maintaining industry-standard protections.

Data Retention and Deletion

We will store your personal information for 2 years, counting from the last recorded date you interacted with our Service. An interaction is typically using our Service in any way, communicating with our platform, or reaching out to us by phone, email or on social media. If we have a client relationship with you, and your personal information is required for legal obligations, your information will not be deleted before any legal obligations have ceased.

You have the right to request deletion of your personal data at any time. To request deletion, please contact us at support@knips.com. We will process your request within 30 days and confirm once your data has been deleted, unless we are legally required to retain certain information.

Your Data Protection Rights

We would like to make sure that you are fully aware of all your data protection rights. Every user is entitled to the following:

  • Right to Access: You have the right to view your personal data and request a copy of the information we hold about you.
  • Right to Rectification: You have the right to request that we correct any information you believe is inaccurate, or that we complete any information you believe is incomplete.
  • Right to Erasure: You have the right to request that we erase your personal data unless there are legal grounds for not performing such an action.
  • Right to Restrict Processing: You have the right to request that we restrict the processing of your personal data under certain conditions.
  • Right to Data Portability: You have the right to request that we transfer the data we have collected to another organization, or directly to you, under certain conditions.

Google User Data

When you connect your Google account to Knips or authorize access to Google services, we may access certain data from your Google account as permitted by the scopes you authorize. Knips' use and transfer to any other app of information received from Google APIs will adhere to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.

Google Data Accessed

Depending on the features you use and the permissions you grant, Knips may access the following types of Google user data:

  • Basic profile information (name and email address) for authentication and account management,
  • Google Ads lead data when you use the Google Ads Leads integration to connect advertising leads with the Knips platform.

How We Use Google User Data

We only access Google user data necessary to provide and improve the features you have authorized. Specifically:

  • Profile information is used to authenticate your identity and manage your account within Knips,
  • Google Ads lead data is used to import and manage advertising leads within the Knips platform on your behalf.

Google Data Sharing

Regarding Google user data specifically:

  • We do not sell Google user data to third parties,
  • We do not use Google user data for advertising purposes,
  • We do not share Google user data with third parties except as necessary to provide or improve the platform features you have authorized, to comply with applicable law, or as part of a merger, acquisition, or asset sale with notice to users,
  • We do not allow humans to read Google user data unless we have your affirmative consent, it is necessary for security purposes (e.g., investigating abuse), to comply with applicable law, or the data is aggregated and anonymized for internal operations.

Google Data Storage and Retention

Google user data is stored securely using encryption at rest and in transit. We retain Google user data only for as long as necessary to provide the services you have authorized. You may revoke Knips' access to your Google data at any time through your Google Account permissions settings. Upon revocation, we will delete your Google user data within 30 days unless retention is required by law.

Tracking and Cookies

We use cookies and similar technologies to track activity on our Service and retain certain information. By using our Service you consent to this practice. Cookies are small amounts of data that are sent from a website and stored on your device. If an error occurs while visiting our website, we collect a small piece of data to be able to solve the issue and provide the best experience possible during your next visit. For this, we use sentry.io to track and log errors. We also use cookies for analytical purposes and to improve how our Service performs. For this we use segment.com. To provide a personalized Service we use cookies and identifiers to collect and store personal information about users and user activity. For this we use Google Firebase. You can instruct your browser to refuse all cookies or to indicate when a cookie is being sent. However, if you do not accept cookies, you may not be able to use parts of our Service. Third Party Services

We use third party service providers to operate, monitor, optimize and analyze the use of our Service. We share only the data necessary for these purposes and apply minimization and pseudonymization where feasible, but some providers may process personal data under our instructions.

The following third parties are instrumental to Knips for operating our Service, analyzing activity and for marketing purposes:

Our Service may contain links to other sites that are not operated by Knips. If you click on a link that exports you out of our Service, you are subject to that site's Privacy Policy. We strongly advise you to review any such applicable Privacy Policies as we have no control over, and will assume no responsibility for, the content and practices of any third party links, sites or services.

Legal Dispute

Any legal dispute should be settled according to Norwegian law with the Oslo District Court as legal venue.

Changes to this Privacy Policy

We may update our Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new Privacy Policy on this page. You are thus advised to review this page periodically.
